As many of you are not doubt aware Nintendo’s new system the Nintendo Switch will come in March 2017. As part of the line up Nintendo has an agreement with multiple Triple A Companies to support the device with software. One of the companies is Bethesda Studios. They will release Skyrim Special Edition on the Nintendo Switch on an announced date.
It is my Opinion that the game will lack a core functionality. That functionality will be modding support. I have come to this conclusion due to Nintendo’s history. They have not proven to be a company open to change. In fact they have proven to be reluctant to change. An example of this is Nintendo’s Creator’s Program, a program that shares ad-revenue with users on YouTube.
This system only allows coverage of Nintendo’s white-list of games. And the price is quite high as Nintendo charges 40% of the video’s ad-revenue. And this is on top of the 15% YouTube deducts. and again this is a white-list, meaning only a select of games is allowed meaning not all Nintendo games are covered. So you cover a select amount of games for at best 40% Ad-Revenue Remaining.
Also the companies only recent consideration of allowing a system to be Region Free. If Nintendo only just recently considered reversing Region Lock and have a archaic system for Ad-Monitization then why would they suddenly allow a new concept like console modding to flourish on Nintendo Switch.
I make all of these points to prove a point and that point is that Nintendo is conventional at its core! It may try new things but those new innovations are not too unconventional at its core. By which I mean all of its systems are closed platforms that do not allow external changes to software of any kind! And that is why I believe that Nintendo Switch will have no modding capability what so ever!
